ACTRESS/TV host Janice de Belen finally breaks her silence on issues circulating the entertainment world on her non-appearance during her daughter's birthday.
Last January 23, Inah, Janice's daughter with ex-husband John Estrada, celebrated her 18th birthday with a bang.
Though the party was well attended by Inah's close friends and John's showbiz brothers, everyone notice that Janice was a no-show.
During that night, Inah said her mom was not able to come because of prior commitments and that she understands because it is work-related.
In a separate interview with Gelli de Belen, sister of Janice, she told reporters that her sister has her own valid reasons for not attending the party.
“Kasi hindi nila alam ang mga pangyayari kaya huwag na silang maghusga dahil hindi naman nila alam. Hayaan na natin si Janice, karapatan nya yun.”
In a television interview, Janice straightened up all issues and said it was her decision not to attend so that the occasion will not cause any showbiz news.
“To begin with, nag celebrate na kami prior that with my kids and meron na kaming personal na usapan ni Inah tungkol sa mga bagay na ito,” Janice cleared.
She furthered that she doesn't want to be the focus of attention during Inah’s birthday party.
“Sya kasi yung may debutant so dapat sa kanya yung spot light, pero hindi mo maiiwasan kasi parehong artista yung magulang nya kaya may sidelights, na yun ang iniiwasan ko,” she said. “Yun ang iniiwasan ko, hindi na kailangan ng sidelights. It's a happy occasion and shouldn't be an occasion na punong puno ng tensyon and intriga.”
Janice meanwhile is set to do an episode for "Maalaala Mo Kaya" (MMK) almost 10 years after her last stint for the show. She will play a very detached single parent to her kids.
