Angel Locsin buys goods for quake victims

KAPAMILYA actress Angel Locsin surprised Dabawenyos on All Saints’ Day, November 1, after she was spotted buying some grocery items for the victims of the recent earthquakes in Mindanao.

Locsin, together with her fiancé Neil Arce, bought sacks of rice and other grocery items inside the NCCC Uyanguren. When the shoppers spotted the actress, they mobbed her in hope to personally meet her up close.

Locsin was then escorted by mall security personnel.

The actress’ visit in the city, which was circulated online, draw admiration from the netizens, fans or not, for taking time to help those affected by the October 29 and 31 earthquakes despite her busy schedule.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), a total of 23 people have died from the earthquakes that have struck Cotabato and adjacent areas in Mindanao since October 16.

In its latest situational report on Friday, November 1, NDRRMC reported that 10 people were killed on October 29 and six others perished on October 31.

Prior to her visit in Davao City, Locsin attended the “Opulence” Halloween party, organized by Raymond Gutierrez, on October 31.

Meanwhile, in a video posted by Facebook user Sydelle Mangao Delgra, the actress thanked her volunteers for assisting her in packing and distributing the items she bought for the victims of the quakes.

She also encouraged her volunteers to “take good care” of their health, and “keep up the good work”.

“‘Wag kayong magkakasakit. Maraming nangangailangan sa inyo (Stay healthy. People rely on you),” Locsin said in a video post while waving goodbye to her volunteers and fans.

The actress has been known for her charitable works.

In a report from ABS-CBN News, Locsin directly donated the money she should have used to buy a gown for the annual ABS-CBN Ball to Bantay Bata.

In 2017, Locsin also donated relief goods to the victims of the Marawi siege.
