SSS Baliuag opens new office

STATE-RUN Social Security System (SSS) recently opened a new local branch office.

The SSS Baliuag branch inaugurated its new office at AC Building, BS Aquino Avenue in Barangay Tangos.

SSS president and chief executive officer Aurora Ignacio said the two-story office holds the branch's operations replacing its previous office in Barangay Bagong Nayon.

“Due to the growing number of daily transactions that the SSS Baliuag processes, the branch was transferred to a bigger office which also has a lower rent rate,” Ignacio said.

“We hope that with this move, we may be able to provide our members, pensioners, and stakeholders with better services and convenience in availing of our programs,” she added.

The said branch serves the municipalities of Baliuag, Bustos, Plaridel, Pulilan, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, and San Rafael and covers a total of 7,248 employers and over 141,000 members.

The SSS Baliuag now takes up an average of 2,646 daily transactions from the average 1,800 transactions per day before to the relocation.

As a full-service branch, it offers services such as the receipt and processing of benefit claims and loan applications; data capture services for the Unified Multi-purpose Identification (UMID) card; and issuance of social security number, employer ID number, and certificate of registration.

“Although the SSS is moving towards online servicing, we are still continually improving our offices for transactions that require face-to-face interaction. Some branch enhancements, in fact, are aligned with our digitalization efforts. By next year, we aim to establish E-center areas in a total of 33 branches,” Ignacio said.

As of August 2019, the SSS has a total of 314 local offices and 28 foreign offices.
