“I'm definitely a Kapamilya. ABS-CBN has shown that they value me and they treasure me as an asset of the company… so, for me the respect I give back in return is to stay loyal to them," he said.

Derek is currently a regular in the primetime show "Habang May Buhay" with Judy Ann Santos, the face of 60 years of teleserye.

When asked on his upcoming project with La Greta and Bea Alonzo, the actor said he's thrilled to work with the two.

“Like I said, nakatrabaho ko na si Bea before and she's very very easy to work with and for Ms. Gretchen, I'm very intimidated to work with her because she's Ms. Gretchen Barretto but at the same time I'm very very excited to work with her.”

Gretchen has been telling the media that Derek is his crush and dream leading man in a project.

During last year's Star Magic Ball, the actress said she is very happy to work with Derek especially he's one of the beautiful faces in showbiz and has a very good knack in acting.

“It's Gretchen Barretto, such a big name and I've never worked with her before just like when I first work with Ms. Maricel Soriano. I was like shock and its like the same feeling as that,” Derek added.

The actor wasn't able to join both Bea and Gretchen during their first acting workshop for their upcoming soap because he was sick.

“I was really really sick and ayoko silang mahawa sa akin kaya I called it off pero I think soon, the next week eh will have a workshop.”
