THE WiPro Tigers nabbed its most impressive win of the season as they ripped the Dreamscape Lions apart, 87-77, in the Elite Classic division of the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball at the City Sports Club Cebu basketball court last Sunday, November 3, 2019.
The Tigers flourished in the fourth canto, outscoring the Lions, 26-20, to pull away and eventually grab the win to improve their win-loss record to 4-10.
Guard RC Espinosa paced WiPro with 27 points, five rebounds and five assists while Andree Gervacio added 26 markers to help the Tigers come out on top and drag Dreamscape down to 7-6.
Without Matt Oche, Ralph “The Lion King” Belarmino was forced to carry the brunt of the offensive load and delivered 26 points, 17 boards and five assists.
In other Elite Classic games, the Fusion BPO Dragons torched the QBE Generals, 77-66, to bolster their slate to 8-5. The Dragons came alive in the final period, outclassing the Generals, 22-10, in that stretch to author the win.
Former University of Southern Philippines Panthers forward Roy Quiachon Jr. filled the stat-sheet up as he had 26 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, the Concentrix Converters stayed abreast of the Dragons as they humiliated the EPerformax Reds, 112-54. Jaime Pacquiao, Jr. led Concentrix with 27 points and 10 rebounds while Gio Antigua chipped in 24 to give the Converters their eighth win in 14 games.
