3 nabbed, P3.4-M ‘shabu’ seized in anti-drug stings

OVER P3.4 million worth of suspected “shabu” were seized while three people, including two high-value target drug personalities, were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, officials said Monday, November 4.

Lawyer Jacqueline De Guzman, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) acting regional director, identified the arrested high-value targets as Aljimar Jimla and Alner Andao, both canning factory workers.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the other suspect as Najer Jahari.

De Guzman said Jimla and Andao were arrested in drug bust around 1:20 p.m. Sunday in front of a food chain outlet in Divisoria Village, this city.

The PDEA official said the two suspects were arrested after they transacted the sale of illegal drugs to an undercover PDEA agent.

She said seized from the suspects were some 500 grams of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) packed in 10 big-sized heat-sealed plastic sachets worth P3.4 million, seven bundles of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill, a four-wheel vehicle, three cellular phones, two plastic bag, one handbag, and one eco bag.

Galvez said Jahari was caught in possession of some P42,800 worth of suspected shabu packed in five heat-sealed plastic sachets when arrested in a drug bust around 4 p.m. Sunday in Baliwasan Village.

Galvez said also seized from Jahari were P200 marked money and a pack of cigarette.

Appropriate charges are set to be filed against the suspects, who were detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
