Man killed after jumping off bridge

A THIRTY-YEAR-OLD man said to be suffering from depression allegedly killed himself by jumping from a bridge into the river.

In a report by Baguio City Police Office Station 2 commander, Police Major Joel Kindipan Dumar said the man, name withheld, allegedly jumped off the M. Roxas Trancoville Bridge beside the Baguio Baptist Church Saturday morning, November 2.

The victim was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with markings at the back, black cargo pants, and slippers.

Closed-circuit television footage reviewed by the personnel of the Baguio City Command Center showed that the victim climbed the bridge and jumped into the river.

Joint personnel from the Baguio City Emergency Medical Service, Bureau of Fire Protection, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management and the BCPO Station 2 tried to rescue the victim, who was found lying on the cemented surface of the Balili River.

Scene of the Crime Operatives Team led by Police Major Chester Nitron processed the crime scene and said the man sustained an open skull fracture which probably caused his death.

Probers said the victim hailed from Lagawe, Ifugao. He was identified by his sister.
