New Central Luzon acting police chief named

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) has named Police Brigadier General Rhodel Sermonia as the acting director of Central Luzon Police Regional Office (PRO-3).

PNP officer-in-charge Lieutenant General Archie Gamboa said Sermonia’s appointment took effect on Monday, November 4.

Sermonia was the director of the Police Community Relations Group but was assigned as the deputy of Police Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR) during the mass reshuffle in the PNP last October following the resignation of then PNP chief Oscar Albayalde.

Replacing Sermonia as acting deputy of DPCR will be Brigadier General Bartolome Bustamante while Colonel Juluis Lawid was named as the acting executive officer of DPCR.

Also assigned to a new post was Colonel Domingo Ramos Lucas who was appointed as the Bicol Region Police Office acting deputy regional director.

Earlier, Gamboa said all key positions in the national police agency which were included in the major revamp will undergo a probationary period for three months.

Gamboa has ordered the reorganization of senior officials in the PNP effective October 20 following the retirement of some senior police officers as well as due to the order of President Rodrigo Duterte. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo/SunStar Philippines)
