AFTER reigning Philippine Basketball Association (PBA)-Developmental League

MVP Eloy Poligrates, it is the turn of former PBA bigwig Buddy Encarnado to visit the sports-conscious town of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental on Tuesday, November 5.

The long-time Sta. Lucia Realty team manager and two-time PBA Executive of the Year awardee Encarnado will be the guest speaker of the ongoing Intramurals 2019 of Tagoloan Community College (TCC).

In the company of Encarnado is erstwhile mentor of University of Santo Tomas (UST) Bong dela Cruz, who is now the designated coach of Pasig Pirates in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).

"That's how serious we are in trying to upgrade the quality of sports development in Tagoloan behind the all-out support of Mayor Gomer Enan Sabio," said newly-minted Tagoloan sports director Van Halen Parmis.

According to Parmis, inviting someone like Encarnado to deliver inspirational message is enough a big factor to motivate and encourage promising Tagoloan athletes, who were enrolled via TCC's scholarship program, to strive hard and become good and successful in their respective events someday.

"Part of Sir Buddy's visit, aside from inspiring the local athletes, is to discuss the sports program of Tagoloan with Mayor Sabio kay interesado kaayo silang coach Bong (dela Cruz) nga makaapil ang Pasig Pirates in coming invitational tourney in Tagoloan," he said.

"We have the 6-foot-8 Senegal citizen Pape Alpha at TCC's fold. Ga-scout pud sila sa mga players nga puhon ma-elevate nato into national level kind of competition," Parmis added.

On Wednesday, November 6, TCC Intramurals will go into full throttle with a fun run, sports, and dance competition that will last until Saturday, November 9, with the championship and exhibition games in basketball to be capped during the Alumni Night.
