In the list of SRP provided by the DTI, the agency reminded consumers to examine the expiry date and price tags of the products prior to purchase and ensure that the item/shelf price at the cashier are the same.
“If price differ, pay the lesser amount,” it said.
For the SRP of the basic needs and prime commodities (BNPC), DTI-Davao City information officer for consumer protection Christopher Dalhog said the SRP updated as of September 30 is still in effect.
“Ang presyo sa mga (the price at) supermarket/grocery shops must not be above the SRPs,” Jenny Mendoza, DTI Davao Region information officer, said.
Dalhog also said there is no price freeze being implemented in Davao City.
The agency has declared price freeze in areas under state-of-calamity such as the Digos City, towns of Bansalan, Magsaysay, Matanao, Hagonoy, and Malalag in Davao del Sur and the town of Makilala in North Cotabato.
DTI Davao del Sur consumer protection head Maria Victoria Placer said the prevailing prices of basic necessities based on their monitoring prior to the declaration of state-of-calamity must be followed.
Among the basic necessities include rice, corn, cooking oil, marine products, and plain coffees among others. RAG
