Winners named in MassKara table tennis tournament

THE 2019 Lopue's-MassKara Invitational Table Tennis Championship organized by Lopue's Table Tennis Association (LOPTTA) headed by its President Dr. Leonito "Diotay" Lopue concluded October 27, 2019 at Lopue's San Sebastián, Annex Bldg., Bacolod City.

In the awarding ceremony, Daryl Gorecho received the championship award in the 10 and under Boys after defeating Kervin Dhale Saban in the finals. Gerald Javelosa received the second runner-up.

In the 10 and under Girls, Ameera Bacomo defeated Nicole Camille Bomban in the finals, while Sarah Daguia and Alexza Gigato settled as second runners-up.

In the 13 and under Girls category, Neka Daguia brought home the gold by taking the championship over Alyssah Faith Bermejo, while Ricci Crisdel Sausa and Jonah Mae Gonzales got the third place awards.

In the 13 and under Boys, Dirk Nickhole Atilano won over Anton Andre Bayona in the finals, as Shaun Rain Jardinico and Marcus Barrido settled as second runners-up.

To continue, Micah Tanate obtained the championship over Jonah Mae Gonzales, while Neka Daguia and Alyssah Faith Bermejo finished as 2nd runner-up in the 18 and under Girls category.

In the 18 and under Boys, the finals between Dirk Nickhole Atilano and Antimony Ginete was a crucial fight but Atilano prevailed and claimed the championship in the end, while Rinkart Ravello and Daniel Bulquerin settled as second runners-up.

The Women's Executive was divided into two:

* Category A, which is a group of former varsities. Kim Trasporto earned the championship after finishing all her matches without lose. Gea Delos Reyes settled in the 1st runner-up, while Romela Sebullen in the 2nd runner-up.

* Category B, which is composed of pingpong enthusiasts. Dr. Analo Claridad won over Dezza Samulde in the finals, while Jiji Berina and Ma. Lee Trasporto was awarded 2nd runners-up.

In the Men's Executive event, Pastor Richard Ginete earned the championship over Ervin Bomban, while Gary Trasporto and Robert Arteche was awarded 2nd runners-up.

In the Veterans (60up) category, still Robert Arteche unbeatably maintained his position as the champion over Felipe Epitacio in the finals, while Rev. Joel Valdez and Ben Alo got the 2nd runner-up award.

For a decade, this annual gathering is realized because of the Associations' mission -- to develop players from "grassroots" to its full potential in the sport of table tennis.

Every year, more than a hundred of players coming from Toboso, Sagay, Cadiz, Silay, Talisay, Murcia, Bacolod, La Carlota, La Castellana, Moises Padilla, Isabela, Binalbagan, and even as far as Antique, Roxas and Tacloban joined and affirmed their support in every tournament that the Association will organize now and on the years ahead.
