P150,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod village

AN ESTIMATED P150,000 worth of “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 3 at Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City Tuesday morning, November 5.

The operation also led to the arrest of the two drug personalities identified as Bryan Barbas, 21, and Leo Romatico, 37, both residents of Barangay Banago.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said the suspects were arrested after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at about 1:45 a.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession four sachets of shabu weighing 10 grams, the P500 marked money, and coin purse.

Pico said Barbas was identified as high-value target in the area of Police Station 3. Both of them were under surveillance for almost a month before their arrest.

He said the suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a teenager was arrested in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 5 at Hacienda Teresita, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City Monday evening.

Police identified the suspect as Emmanuel Bayotas, 18, of Abada Escay, Barangay Vista Alegre.

Pico said Bayotas was arrested after he sold sachet of shabu to a police undercover at about 9:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Bayotas’ possession four sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P5,000, and the P200 marked money.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 5 and facing charges for violation of RA 9165. (MAP)
