PROVINCIAL Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz revealed Tuesday, November 5, that he has tasked the Internal Audit Office with the consultant for financial affairs to look at the financial reports and documents of the Negros First Cyber Centre.

“We will look into the expenses and rates of rentals considering that it is already 93 percent occupied. It is near its maximum level of income,” Diaz pointed out.

We will base our recommendations to Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson on the result of the review, Diaz said.

He added that the decisions based on the figures of income and expenses.

“We will also provide for Rep. Alfredo Benitez, consultant economic affairs, a copy considering that he also has plans for the facility,” he said.

Whatever the results, we will present it to the public, Diaz added.

The Capitol-owned facility located along Lacson corner Hernaez streets, Bacolod City is the first Philippines Economic Zone Authority-accredited building in Negros Occidental.

The Negros First Cyber Centre was built to answer the need for setting up ideal and conducive environments for information and communications technology business process outsourcing investments.

It sits on a four hectare lot, the three–story commercial building has spaces to house IT BPO companies, commercial establishments carrying a variety of services from food, retail, health and wellness, and travel services.

Diaz has revealed that the Cyber Centre has been managed by a private company after the previous administration entered into a usufruct for a joint venture agreement to avoid the bureaucratic red tape in government transactions.
