ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. appealed to the public to participate in the city-wide earthquake drill on November 7 at 10 a.m.
The city-wide earthquake drill is apart from the nationwide drill set by the national government on November 14.
Lazatin is encouraging business establishments and government agencies in Angeles City to familiarize themselves with the process and steps to do when calamities, like earthquakes, occur.
"Hindi bale pong marami tayong drills, ang importante ma-familiarize ang mga tao. Maging handa lalo sa kalamidad (What's important is that we familiarize the drills. We should always be prepared for calamities)," Lazatin said.
According to the mayor, this move is to measure the readiness to respond to disasters, as well as to instill preparedness to people.
With this, he is also urging his constituents' to set up an emergency kit to enhance their capability to survive in times of disaster.
Recently, Lazatin personally inspected the stockpile of food and equipment to ensure the city is ready to respond when calamities arise. (PR)
