A TOTAL of 20 teams are set to compete for the title in the VCBL Season 3 — Pamugasay as it raises its curtains on a new tournament at the One Oasis basketball court this Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019.
True to the moniker of this season, this tournament would be awarding five kilos of rice to the best player of each game, said league commissioner Vianney Cadungog II.
The champion squad will receive a cash prize of P10,000, while the first and second runners-up will be awarded with P6,000 and P4,000, respectively. Special awards are also on tap for the Most Valuable Player as well as members of the Mythical Five.
Each squad would be composed of players no taller than six feet. Former varsity and commercial players are also not allowed to participate in this tournament.
The 20 teams would be divided into four divisions, with each team playing a round-robin in their own division. The top two finishers of each division would move on to the knockout quarterfinal round. (JNP)
