Fire displaces 66 families; damage reaches P8-M

THE damage of the fire that broke out in over 40 residential homes in Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City rose to P8,253,000, City Administrator Teddy Sabuga-a said.

Around 66 families were left homeless while two people were injured on Tuesday night’s fire in Sitio Ngitngit, Gumamela Extension, Barangay Carmen.

Fire district marshal Superintendent Allan Cabot identified the victims as Bernard Cemania and Jovie Emata, residents in the area, who incurred slight burns due to the fire.

Cabot said they are still investigating the cause of the fire that reached 4th alarm.

Sabugaa said the city already set up a community kitchen in the temporary evacuation center at Carmen National High School.
