City extends experimental traffic scheme

MAYOR Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has issued an executive order extending the execution of an experimental traffic scheme to decongest certain areas of Zamboanga City’s inner central business district.

Salazar signed the Executive Order (EO) No. 516 upon the recommendation of the Zamboanga City Traffic Operations Management (ZCTOM) Committee to extend the implementation of EO 469 to help alleviate the present traffic situation within the inner central business district of the city due to the increase in the volume of vehicular traffic, especially during peak hours.

Schedule of implementation is 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.

Under EO 469 extended by EO 516, the following streets are declared “One-Way”—from junction Pura Brillantes to Campaner to Rodriguez-Unknown streets; Governor Alvarez-Nuñez- La Purisima; Tomas Caludio to Veterans to intersection of Governor Lim to Climaco Avenue; Governor Lim-Pilar Street to intersection Governor Lim Avenue-Veterans Avenue; Pilar Street-Corcuera to Valderrosa; Pettit Barracks-Rizal Street, Pablo Lorenzo-Nicasio S. Valderrosa to junction Felicisimo. Marcos Street.

Also “One-Way” streets are La Purisima to I. Magno, Governor Lim-La Purisima to junction Governor Lim-Almonte; Gate 1 of main public market to junction of Pablo Lorenzo-Nicasio S. Valderrosa; Claveria-Pilar to junction Claveria-General Vicente Alvarez.

“No Right Turn’ regulated on the streets of La Purisima to Campaner, Saavedra to Governor Lim, Villalobos to Valderrosa, Felicisimo Marcos to Valderrosa, Corcuera to Valderrosa, San Jose Panigayan to Corcuera, Sevilla to Corcuera, Rizal to Villalobos, Rizal to Corcuera, Zaragosa to Corcuera, Gonzales Drive to Campaner, and Gonzales Drive to Nuñez.

“No Left Turn” regulated on these streets: Bagsakan Entrance/Exit to Governor Camins, Governor Camins to Bagsakan Entrance/Exit, Sta. Cruz Market to Governor Camins, Governor Camins to Sta. Cruz Market, Camanchile to Nuñez, Nuñez to Campaner, Murga Road to Veterans, Valderrosa to Villalobos, Sevilla to Villalobos, San Jose Panigayan to Villalobos, and Pilar to Villalobos.
