The Molave scoring system golfest, which is open to amateur and professional golfers, stakes a brand new motorcycle, flat screen TV, laptop and washing machine as hole-in-one prizes.

She also said the charity event will benefit the Talos Elementary School, whose students are mostly indigenous people, in Barangay San Jose, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte.

MBFEA, Inc. chairman Han Da Bae, for his part, said they have been organizing charity sports events to raise awareness on the importance of the cavendish banana industry not just in the region but also in the country and to also help the IP communities around and within the banana farms of their members.

“We hope to reach a lot of people in our succeeding competitions so we can invite more to benefit less fortunate areas in Mindanao,” Bae said, adding that the industry has been creating jobs and generating remittances.
