Peace, anti-drug councils hold meeting at Capitol

GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson presided over the Fourth Quarter Joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Padac) Meeting held at the Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City on Thursday, November 7.

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) cluster leader, Fatima Daiz, gave a brief presentation on Retooled Community Support Program under the DILG Memorandum Circular 2019-169 that will intensify good governance and prioritize the needed development programs and projects identified by the communities.

Lieutenant Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte of the 303rd Infantry Battalion Philippine Army gave a security situation update in the province while Lieutenant Colonel Adrian Acollador also presented on the operations and accomplishments of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office; the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Western Visayas also presented their activities and accomplishments in the province.

DILG Provincial Director lawyer Ferdinand Panes said that there will be a conduct of the Serbisyo Caravan in the province that aims to extend the government services especially to people who live in the far-flung areas.

Meanwhile, Governor Lacson commended the Philippine Army, CIDG, and Nocppo for the successful operation on the arrest of the suspected activists last week.

The Provincial Planning and Development Office, headed by Dr. Ma. Lina Sanogal who is also the PPOC-PADAC Action Officer, presented the Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan for the year 2020-2022. (PR)
