P20,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Barangay Vista Alegre

AN ESTIMATED P20,000 worth of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 7 at Purok Arao, Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City Wednesday evening, November 6, 2019.

The operation led to the arrest of Roderick Calas, of Barangay Vista Alegre.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said Calas was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at about 6:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Calas’ possession eight sachets of suspected shabu, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 7 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a theft suspect was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 at Purok Katipunan, Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City Wednesday afternoon.

Police identified the suspect as Salvador Legaspi, of Bacolod City.

Pico said the suspect was arrested after he was caught stealing electrical wire worth P1,500 from the constructed house at Purok Katipunan at about 5:30 p.m.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 9 and facing theft charges.
