Murcia, Salvador Benedicto to experience 12-hour brownout

ASIDE from those in other localities covered by the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco), electric consumers in Murcia and Salvador Benedicto will also experience a 12-hour power interruption on Sunday, November 10.

The brownout will start from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ceneco, in an advisory, said the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) is scheduling a power service interruption to some substations of the power distribution utility.

The cooperative said it will take advantage of the downtime to implement simultaneous maintenance activities.

Aside from preventive maintenance, the NGCP will also conduct replacement of wood to steel poles, reconfiguration of the take-off structures of Bacolod-San Enrique 69 kilovolts (kV) feeder to increase its clearance from Alijis Feeder, and tree clearing covering feeders in Murcia.

Areas affected under Feeder I are Purok Manayaosayao, Canlaon View Subdivision, Tanduay, and Proper Blumintritt in Murcia.

The Feeder II covers most areas in municipalities of Murcia and Salvador Benedicto.

Consumers are advised that, in the event of any power interruption, electrical switches should be turned-off for safety reasons.

When electricity supply resumes, there is a need to provide allowance of about 10 to 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge.

Earlier, Ceneco announced a 12-hour power interruption in Bago City and portions of Bacolod City.
