Chinese steel firm eyes MisOr for expansion

A STEEL manufacturing company from China is planning to expand to and pour investments into Misamis Oriental.

Guangdong Steel Manufacturing Company president James Cowper, export company manager Stephen Ho, and business facilitator Charlotte Villar visited Misamis Oriental and met with some Capitol executives, and officials of the Department of Trade and Industry and Phividec to talk about the opportunity to expand the business by the end of the year or in January 2020.

According to the Chinese investors, apart from pouring investments in the steel industry of Misamis Oriental, they also plan to export tobacco and dredge rivers.

"Basically we're doing roofing, we brought in equipment and we're bringing our raw materials. We have dredging vessels, we would like to offer [our] services," Cowper said.

"I want to see whether it's a good opportunity to make an investment here," Ho said.

The Chinese investors are just waiting for the requirements that need to be processed to begin the establishment of the manufacturing exportation company.
