Top cop orders police directors to intensify operations

ALL provincial and city police directors in Central Luzon intensified all their interdiction operations against wanted persons, illegal drug personalities and threat groups, especially communist terrorists, to ascertain that the whole region is peaceful and orderly as part of the security preparation of the police for the upcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2019.

Brigadier General Rodel Sermonia, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon acting director, said the aggressive anti-criminality drive the Philippine National (PNP) in Central Luzon is implementing is aimed at preempting criminal elements and other threat groups from carrying out their nefarious activities and to boost the confidence of SEA Games delegates with the security coverage police authorities have laid for the upcoming event.

Sermonia on Monday directed police commanders to beef up their community relations efforts and to mobilize civilian volunteers from force multiplier groups in order to complement the strength of the PNP in securing all corners of Central Luzon especially during night time.

He said the intensified manhunt operations against wanted persons resulted in the arrest of eight on Saturday, November 9.

Sermonia said 19 persons were arrested in the anti-drug operations launched regionwide over the weekend. (Ric Sapnu)
