THREE robbery suspects, including a minor, who held-up a food chain delivery crew, were arrested by responding officers early Monday, November 11, in Sasa, Davao City.

Sasa Police Station Commander Police Major Ruben Libera identified the suspects as Eeron Puno Monton, 21; James Carl Soterol Andres, 18; and alias Jomar, 17, a child in conflict with the law (CICL).

They are all residents of Sto. Niño Riverside, Kilometer 9, Sasa, Davao City.

Based on the report, the incident happened around 12 a.m. while the victim, identified as Martin Paul Rosales Aldea Jr., 29, delivery boy and resident of Doña Paz Subdivision, Old Airport, Km 9, Sasa, Davao City, was driving his delivery service motorcycle headed back to McDonalds Damosa Branch.

When he crossed the Sasa Bridge, Km 9, Sasa, Davao City, the three suspects, armed with knives, declared a hold-up and forcibly took Aldea's black pouch containing P1,000 cash.

The suspects then mauled the victim and escaped. The victim then sought police assistance.

During the follow-up operation, the responding police officer, Police Corporal Ruel Macaldo, arrested Andres, who was positively identified by the victim as one of the suspects. Other suspects who escaped toward the inner portion of Sto. Niño Riverside were chased.

The two other suspects tried to resist arrest with the minor suspect pulling a knife and intentionally stabbing the patrolman, while Monton attempted to grab the cop's service firearm, forcing the police officer to shoot the suspect.

Confiscated from their possession were a hunting knife, measuring eight inches from tip to handle, and a black pouch containing P1,000 bill stolen money.

Monton, who sustained a gunshot wound, was rushed to Southern Philippines Medical Center for medical treatment, while the other two suspects are currently under the custody of Sasa Police Station for proper disposition.

The suspects will be facing robbery and physical injury charges while the minor will be sent to the Davao City Social Services and Development Office for proper intervention.
