TEAM Vulture leaned on a clutch basket by streak-shooting Alec Geñoso to defeat host Pilgrim Christian College (PCC), 19-18 in the finals and captured the 19-under title of the Wilson 3x3 basketball Cagayan de Oro leg held, over the weekend, at the PCC gym.
It was a see-saw battle from start to end until the Assumption Montessori School-powered Team Vulture went to the hot hands of Geñoso to seal the win and a trip to Manila for the national finals in April next year.
Geñoso scored a total of nine points as teammates Garry Antigua, Jerry Rivera Jr. and Charmelou Harina also contributed on both ends of the floor.
In the 15-under level, Pilgrim Christian College-Yburan team edged Assumption Montessori School, 5-4, for the crown behind the foursome of Paul Adrian Yburan, Yuki Iwanaga, Carlito Alicante and Charles Marvin Matig-a.
This, as San Juan Knights's Team Usman won the 17-under championship through the efforts of Joseph Usman, Garred Gallawan, Christian Perocho and Ricky Jones Ayudtud.
All the winners received medals and basketballs from Wilson and gift certificates from fellow sponsors Chooks to Go, Minute Burger and AQ Support.
Wilson 3x3 Mindanao tournament coordinator James Racines, Wilson brand manager in the Philippines Errol Elicana and Chooks to Go Mindanao Marketing Head Moi Lomoya gave out the prizes.
All the Cagayan de Oro leg winners will advance to the National Finals along with other winners from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao
