FAMILY, friends, colleagues, classmates and other guests celebrated with ABS-CBN Bacolod seasoned broadcast journalist Mitch Lipa his golden year on November 10, 2019.

It was a meaningful and intimate celebration mounted by Mitch's better half, Grace, and son Myron held at Nature's Village Resort in Talisay City.

It was a day of reminiscing the meaningful life and journalistic works of Mitch Lipa, who works at ABS-CBN Bacolod for 27 years, enjoying the exchange of laughter and stories, songs and dances.

Most of Mitch's guests turned as performers having all the knack for music and entertainment.

Mitch's past and present colleagues formed good and interesting words for him while he acknowledged them with mixed emotions.

His wife, Grace, and his son were grateful of having him in their lives.

"While, we are an example of the saying that opposites attract, we still manage to agree in the end in both minor and major decisions of our family life. Thank you for being a good provider to us. May God bless you more with good health," she said.

Mitch Lipa, on the other hand, thanked his well-wishers for gracing his golden year celebration.

His godfather, Oscar "Dodong" Bascon, and godmother, Carmencita, also came to his birthday celebration despite the physical challenge that his Ninong Dodong is overcoming.

"I came because Mitch is important. We were together when he covered sports news before where I was one of his news source. I also attended when he got married to Grace in Iloilo. Grace you indeed marry a good husband," he said.

Bing Ascalon, former ABS-CBN Bacolod station manager, said she has no problem with the work ethics of Mitch Lipa. He is always doing what is expected of him.

Leilanie Salem-Alba said, "We have a love-hate relationship insofar as our work. But I love you, Mitch, you know that. Enjoy your day."

Carla P. Gomez, editor of the Visayan Daily Star, shared an interesting love story of Mitch way before he got married, which made everyone burst into laughter.
