Pacete: Espinido in the most livable city

POLICE Lieutenant Colonel Jovie Espinido welcomed his assignment in Bacolod City as deputy city director for operations that made him chairman of oversight committee on illegal drugs. His task includes intelligence build up and the clearing of the barangays. He has to head the City Drug Enforcement Unit of BCPO.

Jovie simply told Bacolodnons to be law abiding citizens and Christians to avoid any untoward incidents (AUI).

AUI is not explained very well. He could have learned from the city officials that Bacolod is a "Top Philippines Model City" and "Business-Friendly City" with high returns in 2019.

He could have cursed also power interruption and Ceneco during the irritating power interruption. He could have been familiar with coffee-like water from faucet or no water at all courtesy of Baciwa. Anyway, he is in the City of Smiles, province of Sweet Surprises. He can just smile with all these surprises.

Jovie was told that Bacolodnons are religious and he is willing to become a partner of Mayor Bing. Sooner, we will see him having frequent photo ops with the mayor. He could have made familiarization tour in some barangay noted for shabu business.

It was President Digong who said that Bacolod is badly hit by illegal drugs. Even Brigadier General Rene Pamusmusan of PRO-Western Visayas said that Bacolod City has a bigger problem compared to Iloilo City, the most shabulized city according to the President.

Mayor Bing believes that Bacolod is close to the heart of President Duterte. That could be one reason why Espinido is here...to prove that closeness and explore the width of drug business in the livable city that made some drug personalities live here.

We have yet to see the devastating trademark of the soft-spoken Espinido who by this time could have identified already the drug route from Cebu to Bacolod passing San Carlos, from the port of Aklan and Caticlan to Bacolod passing Dumangas then to Bredco. With Jovie, we hope that Bacolod PNP will further expand its balls with dogged commitment.

Bacolodnons and Negrosanons want to see real action with colorful intensity. We cannot afford to see that Espinido's war-gasm on illegal drugs will just be catastrophically wrong. Let us all cooperate with vivid vision to achieve what is gritty and heroic. This time we cannot afford to be doomed to failure.

We expect bravado performance from Jovie coupled with vibrant kinetic energy from Bacolod PNP and Bacolod City officials.
