2 nabbed in Isabela City anti-drug ops

A DRUG surrenderer and a street level target were arrested in an anti-drug operation in Isabela City, Basilan province, the police reported Tuesday.

Police Lieutenant Colonel William Gadayan, Isabela City police chief, identified the arrested suspects as Jul-Arab Ismael, 57, drug surrenderer; and, Anibar Abubakar, 32, a street-level target.

Gadayan said Ismael and Abubakar were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:15 p.m., Monday, in the village of Riverside, Isabela City.

Gadayan said seized from the two were some P45,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in four heat-sealed plastic sachets, P500 marked money and illegal drug paraphernalia.

He said the suspects were detained while formal charges are set to be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
