SUAREZ Water Treatment proved steadier in the extra period as it nicked RMA Logistics, 82-80, in overtime in the Southside Basketball League Season 4 at the Sacred Heart Center basketball court last Saturday, November 9, 2019.
Gil dela Cerna sparked Suarez to victory with his 12 points and five assists, spoiling the stellar showing of RMA’s Mark Alferez who had 21 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals.
In the day’s other game, Irish routed Guba Society, 109-80, as Macky January compiled 24 points, six rebounds and two assists.
Guba Society got 23 points and five assists from Elcid Avila but it was not enough to keep the team from suffering the defeat.
The game was close after the first quarter that saw Irish holding on to one-point lead, 19-18.
However, Irish started pulling away in the second after outscoring Guba, 23-11, to erect a 42-29 halftime lead.
Irish kept its foot on the gas pedal and brought its lead to 71-45 at the end of the third en route pave to the easy win. (JNP)
