DQ to open in Iloilo, Davao

FOLLOWING the success of its Cebu expansion, Manila-based PPI Holdings Inc. is opening two more branches of Dairy Queen (DQ) in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Angela Cruz of DQ Philippines announced that DQ will open in Iloilo and Davao cities.

She said this is part of the company’s expansion program in the southern part of the country.

Cruz made this announcement during the first year anniversary of DQ Cebu in SM City Cebu. She said Cebu remains to be a strong and important market for DQ as it holds the high opening sale record among all DQ branches in the country.

In 2018, DQ opened three branches in Cebu—one in SM City Cebu and two in Ayala Center Cebu.

DQ was an early pioneer in the food franchising business operating for 78 years now. It is owned by Warren Buffet.

The first DQ store opened in 1940 in Joliet, Illinois.

The soft ice cream brand is known for its blizzard product which come in different flavors like choco chips, chocolate almond, oreo, among others. Blizzards are “served upside-down” offering a fun way to enjoy the ice cream. (KOC)
