Pangan: Significant concerns

THE Fiesta Communities Homeowners Association, Inc. in Tabun, Mabalacat City, like any homeowners group, is faced with daily issues and concerns not only by, and from, the residents but also from those outside of the subdivision.

Foremost of these concerns is the erratic schedules of garbage collection which may be due to frequent malfunction of the garbage truck or plain nonchalance of the collectors. But Fiesta Homeowners Association, Inc., or HOA has a standing Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Hausland Estate Management, Inc., regarding or HEMI regarding the maintenance of open spaces and parks, electricity supply and garbage collection of Fiesta Communities.

And there lies the frequent miscommunication regarding the above matters. Mark Canlas, the PMO of HEMI, is in close coordination with HOA about these concerns.

Upon my assumption to the Presidency of HOA on November 2, 2019, I naturally inherited the problems and concerns of the homeowners of Fiesta but I am resolved to solve these in due time. My predecessor, Rozel Kay Hernandez, did a good job addressing them, so I had no option but to continue with her fine work and dedication.

I intend to push through the beautification project at HOA. Every street shall be lighted up and sprucely cleaned with the promise of prizes for those who excel in cleanliness, orderliness and aesthetic beauty and countenance.

Pending before the board is the stray dogs problem. We (pres. Kay and auditor Angie) went to see the City Veterinarian one norning but he explained that the issue is complicated like the problem of a lack of a big dog pound for stray dogs caught, their meal subsistence and sustained upkeep which needs a big budget. Dr. Avel Canlas kept us informed of the law on animal safety.

Still, under my stewardship, I will strive to solve this stray dogs problem and the loud mufflers of irresponsible motorcycle riders who ply Fiesta streets.
