THE Zamboanga City Government, through the City Tourism Office, has urged owners of tourism establishments, like resorts, to register to legalize their operation.

City Tourism Officer Sarita Sebastian said her office can assist resort owners and other tourism-related establishments by way of introducing them to tourists once they are registered.

“Zamboanga City has many emerging destinations, but they should register so that we can assist them,” she said.

The City Tourism Office, has initiated the conduct of the three-day “Exposicion de Viajes en Zamboanga (Zamboanga Travel Exposition)” to provide the tourism stakeholders the opportunity to showcase their services and products to the public, especially tourists.

A total of 25 stakeholders including tourism destination establishments, travel and tour companies, airline firms and producers of local products joint the travel expo that reeled off Friday (November 15) and ended Sunday (November 17).

Booths were set up at the east wing of the KCC Mall de Zamboanga where the people visited and inquired on any tourism-related destinations and activities.

Sebastian said part of the activity is the Quiz Bee for students in the elementary, secondary and tertiary, and regional dance and costume competition.

“This is one way of conserving, protecting and promoting the culture and tradition of the people in Zamboanga Peninsula,” she said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
