A DOCKHAND was shot dead by a security guard who claimed to have caught the victim in the act of stealing scrap iron inside a container yard owned by Sulpicio Lines, Thursday.
SPO2 Henry Balbiran, investigator of the Sasa Police Station, identified the victim as Gaudioso Alibangbang, 30, a dockhand of Davao Integrated Port and Stevedoring Services Corporation (Dipsscor) and resident of Parola, Barangay Sasa.
Balbiran said the victim was stealing scrap iron inside the container yard of Sulpicio Lines at Sasa Wharf and was shot in the arm by Renante Palacio, 30, a member of the Superior Security Agency, around 8 p.m. Thursday.
Alibangbang was reportedly warned by the guard before he was shot.
Palacio voluntarily surrendered his caliber .38 service firearm.
The victim was brought to St. Peter Funeral Homes, while the suspect is detained at the Sasa Police Station, where he awaits a homicide charge to be filed against him. (AD)
