PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte is not in the pink of health, considering that he is getting older, Malacañang said Sunday, November 17.

In a radio interview, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the 74-year-old President is suffering from various ailments.

He, however, stressed that it was “normal” for Duterte to encounter health problems.

“Kung sasabihin mong normal, hindi siya normal kasi nga ang dami niyang nararamdaman. Kumbaga kung sinabi ko noon na if he was in the pink of health, ngayon I think he's now in the green of health (If you’ll say he’s normal, he’s not normal because he has health issues. If I said earlier that he was in the pink of health, I think he’s now in the green of health),” Panelo said.

“Hindi na pink, green lang, which is kung ano ang sakit ng matatanda sa edad niya, ordinarily he has that (He’s no longer in a pink of health, it’s just green of health, which means, ordinarily, he has that, given his age),” he added.

This comes after the Chief Executive admitted that that he was not in the best of his health.

The President made the admission in an interview with GMA News.

"Lahat ng sakit, nandito na sa akin kasi matanda na ako (I have health problems since I'm already old.) Kung sabihin mo, 'Okay ka ba, Presidente (If you will ask me, ‘Are you okay, President)? Are you in the best of health?' Of course not," he said.

"I am old. Life has begun to take its toll on my health. At kung sabihin mong may sakit ako, meron (I am sick). You name it, I have it," he added.

Despite this, Panelo insisted that Duterte is still fit to work.

"If you will notice, kahit na ganyan siya, may nararamdaman, 'yung kanyang schedule, ganoon pa rin, hindi naman nababago eh (If you will notice, his schedule does not change, despite his ailments). And he not only does survive, he does it well," he said. (NASE)
