'Monster' attacks two women

BANSALAN, Davao del Sur -- After attacking the neighboring town of Magsaysay in this province, the "monster" is said to have transferred in Bansalan.

Residents at Sitio Curvada in Barangay Poblacion Uno and Lily Street in Barangay Poblacion Dos were alarmed after a ",monster", similar to a "wakwak", which is a mythical monster-like or vampire-like creature who is said to survive by eating human flesh and drinking human blood, attacked two women.

Residents at Sitio Curvada where horrified when one Jessa, 37, shouted that she was attacked by a "monster" who she described as a humanoid creature with very long hair covering its face and had very long nails. The attack resulted to her bruises and scratches.

The incident happened at exactly 12 midnight last Saturday, November 16, when the moon was high and bright.

Jessa could not determine whether the monster was a female or male but she was sure that it has a pair of wings and quickly vanished when her neighbors appeared bearing bolos, clubs, and sticks.

Meanwhile, in Lily Street, one Christine narrated that there was something who attacked and scratched her that made her scream for help.

The "aswang" or "wakwak" topic became viral in social media after some incidents reported that it is wandering around the barangay.

At Sitio Bagong Silang, Brgy. Managa, however, residents revealed that they saw a "sigbin", also a mythical creature which is said to be kangaroo-look-alike and owned by an “aswang,” last Friday night, November 15, when the moon was also in its brightest.

After the recent earthquakes, residents here and in nearby towns sleep outside their houses, in their makeshift tents.

According to the elderlies, evil, mythical creatures appear after an earthquake.

However, authorities are again warning the public to be wary about this kind of story as this could be a modus of some criminal groups to take advantage of the situation.
