THE Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings shot down the Asian International School of Aeronautics and Technology (Aisat), 106-71, at Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center (DCRC) on Sunday, November 17, to claim its fifth straight win in the 2019 Collegiate Sponsors League (CSL) Escandor Cup.
John Hebaina led the charge for the Kings by drilling in 16 points with three rebounds, three assists and one block.
“Pasalamat ko sa akong mga teammates, naningkamot mi i-execute ang plays (I thank my teammates for we really did our best to execute our plays),” Hebaina said via the CSL Escandor Cup Facebook page.
The Kings retained the top spot of the bracket B team standings with a clean 5-0 win-loss card in the league organized by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) regional director Glenn Escandor as qualifying event for the Philippine
Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) Mindanao Finals. Aisat, for its part, held a 2-3 mark.
The University if Mindanao (UM) Davao Wildcats, meanwhile, took its fourth victory after six outings in bracket A by sinking the Agro-Industrial Foundation College of Southeastern Philippines (AIFC) Sailors, 89-82.
Wildcat Karlo Quidlat poured in 22 baskets on top of five rebounds and two steals.
In another game, Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Crusaders overwhelmed Cor Jesu College of Digos, 91-75, behind the heroics of best player of the game Paul Turco (12 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, one steal and seven blocks).
