'Ramon' weakens; 'Sarah' intensifies into tropical storm

TYPHOON Ramon has weakened into a tropical depression as it moves over Isabela, while Tropical Depression "Sarah" intensified into a Tropical Storm moving north northwest, said the state weather bureau.

As of 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 20, "Ramon" was located at the vicinity of Roxas, Isabela with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (km/h) near its center and gusts up to 90 km/h.

Pagasa lifted Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) Number 1 over the northeastern portion of Isabela (Divilacan, Tumauini, Cabagan, Maconacon, and San Pablo), while areas under TCWS Number 2 are now placed under TCWS Number 1.

Areas under TCWS Number 1 are Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan Islands), Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur, the western portion of Isabela (Quezon, Mallig, Quirino, Roxas, San Manuel, Burgos, Aurora, Reina Mercedes, Luna, Cabatuan, San Mateo, Cauayan, Ramon, Alicia, Angadanan, San Isidro, Santiago, and Cordon), Mountain Province, Benguet, Ifugao, La Union, and Pangasinan.

Meanwhile, Sarah was located at 715 kilometers east northeast of Infanta, Quezon as of 10 a.m. while moving north northwest at 20 km/h with maximum sustained winds of up to 65 km/h near its center and gusts of up to 80 km/h.

Pagasa has placed the eastern portion of Cagayan (Calayan, Aparri, Baggao, Alcala, Gattaran, Lal-lo, Tuguegarao City, Penablanca, Iguig, Amulung, Santa Teresita, Camalaniugan, Santa Ana, Gonzaga, Buguey, Ballesteros, and Calayan) and the northeastern portion of Isabela (Divilacan, Tumauini, Cabagan, Maconacon, and San Pablo) under TCWS Number 1.
