Yilmaz Bektas returns to Manila

TURKISH businessman and estrange husband of Ruffa Gutierrez is set to visit the Philippines this month.

Ruffa confirmed over television interview that her ex-husband Yilmaz Bektas phoned her and said he will be going to Manila by the third week of March.

According to Ruffa, Yilmaz told her to send all their wedding DVDs to Turkey.

The two exchanged their vows last March 25, 2003 in front of hundreds of people in NBC Tent in The Fort, Taguig City. A lavish reception was also held in the same area.

Ruffa meanwhile said she didn't really expect the call.

“Nine months kaming hindi nagusap ni Yilmaz, then suddenly, out of the blue, tumawag sya tapos nagusap kami so I'd like to welcome that and sana maging peaceful na yung samahan namin,” she said.

When asked if Yilmaz’s visit to the country would entail a reconciliation between them, the host/actress said she's taking things by day.

“Hindi ko alam. I'm happy the way things are now and ayoko namang pangunahan and syempre andyan parin yung respeto and tungkol sa mga ligawan, sabihin na lang natin na ok kami ngayon,” Ruffa said.

The new TV5 talent said that Yilmaz wanted to bond with his kids Lorin and Venice and they will be spending a week in a beach.

“Sabi nya gusto nyo lang daw talaga magbasa ng mga story books sa mga bata under a coconut tree,” she said.

Ruffa added that she will allow Yilmaz to bond with her kids to show them that their parents are okay and doing fine.

“I want to show them na kahit may problema sa amin ng daddy nila eh we still love each other and we still respect each other and we're still going to be parents to them.”

She furthered that she doesn't want her kids to grow having ill feelings toward their father.

Ruffa recently announced that she will be leaving ABS-CBN to join TV5. She will be one of the main hosts of the new show "Paparazzi" on TV5. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
