SlideGenius targets 200 creative IT jobs in Bacolod

SLIDEGENIUS Interactive, a creative processes management company based in Makati City, opened in Bacolod City on November 19.

Since 2015, SG Interactive serves the clients of SlideGenius Global, an internationally leading presentation designer for large global companies based in San Diego, California, United States of America.

Rick Enrico, chief executive officer and founder of SlideGenius Global, is in Bacolod this week to oversee the set-up of their new branch at San Antonio Park Square Two, one of several information technology (IT) centers proclaimed by the Office of the president as a special economic zone and registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza).

SlideGenius Interactive general manager Angel Tillmann, whose family hails from Bacolod, is glad to return and set up in the city to provide jobs for her fellow Negrenses.

Successful applicants who are graduates of local colleges and universities in Negros Occidental will still undergo eight weeks of advanced and intensive training in the use of PowerPoint and other presentation tools.

The company targets to hire 100 to 200 designers in the next three years who are skilled in graphic design, creative or multi-media content development, account management and general support service orientation.

As their first expansion outside of Metro Manila, Enrico has full confidence in the quality and scalability of the talent pool of Bacolod and Negros Occidental.

He underscored the importance of continuously improving the workforce, especially in the area of creative design by not only teaching arts but also strengthening skills in business design. He highlighted the fact that more than 80 percent of human learning today is visual.

Enrico lauded the quality of life in Bacolod especially for workers who are not exposed to the stress of two to three hours of commuting just to get to work. He considers his company’s workers as assets and therefore a good work culture and ways to take care of employees must be in place to develop more creativity. (PR)
