CLARK FREEPORT -- Globe Telecommunications Incorporated recently launched a free internet project at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST).
In a statement, the telecom company said students, particularly those at high school and college levels, constantly feel the need to connect to the internet for numerous reasons.
Among them are to gather research material, download the latest apps, stream and share content, or simply stay connected with friends, family, and peers.
Members of the academe have come to accept this IT-enabled reality and acknowledge the role of digitalization and telecommunications in innovative learning, the Globe telecom stated.
Globe and NEUST have partnered in their pledge to provide students and staff with easily accessible, high quality data connectivity through GoWiFi services.
The memorandum of agreement was signed by NEUST president Feliciana Jacoba and GoWiFi business development manager John Timothy Ang recently.
This initiative is intended to support the learning needs of students and reinforce modern teaching strategies.
Once the school grounds have been equipped with GoWiFi facilities, it should be easier for students and faculty to conduct research, disseminate information, share resource materials, and communicate with classmates and colleagues.
The NEUST is only one of the continuously increasing educational institutions that have been transformed to GoWiFi sites.
Philippine Women’s University and Philippine Normal University in Manila, and Cebu Doctors University have likewise been identified as venues for Globe GoWiFi’s digitalization efforts nationwide.
