LIFERISKS, the first non-profit youth organization in Pampanga advocating for mental health, and a registered group under the National Youth Commission celebrated its first anniversary at the Salt and Crab Seafood Dining in Clark Freeport on November 17, 2019. The anniversary dinner was attended by the officers and members of the organization, and some special guests.

The exclusive gathering was organized to celebrate the founding of the organization last November 7, 2018, and to congratulate five out of five of its members who passed the Psychometrician Licensure Board Exam.

“Days of celebration are often the perfect moments to look back and be grateful for how kind the past year has been for all of us. When we started LifeRisks back in November 2018, we’ve already visited two countries, seven cities and municipalities; we’ve done 52 LifeTalks; and we’ve touched the lives of 9,400 students, teachers, and employees. When Sir Norman and I have started this organization, we knew that we would not be able to do it on our own; and I’m happy that the organization is blessed by gifted and talented members and important people who supported us,” shared LifeRisks’ president and co-founder, Adrian Paul Liangco.

The celebration was graced by the presence of Dr. Wendell Cabrera of the Department of Education Regional Office III and Coach Ronnel Golimlim of Widus Foundation, who each received a certificate of appreciation and a token of gratitude from LifeRisks for their invaluable support and contribution to the organization.

The evening started with a prayer led by Marc Efraim Mendoza, LR auditor. It was followed by the opening remarks of Liangco, who looked back on how kind and generous the year has been to LifeRisks. Thereafter, John Ian Wilzon T. Dizon, LR vice president, administered the solemn Oath of LifeMovers to the new members of the organization namely, Ericson Cabrera and Lea Braceros. The programme ended with a video call with Norman B. Mendoza, adviser and co-founder, who is currently based in Hong Kong. He expressed his warm greetings and congratulations to the members. The programme was officiated by Angelika Djem Jacob, LR information officer.

“To the movers, Wil, Djem, Cath, Chiz, Marc, Leandro, and to the other movers who aren’t here this evening, thank you for being with LifeRisks. Whenever I look back to everything that happened a year ago, the most memorable moment is always the day when you answered the call of this organization. Last but not least, I would like to thank our Co-Founder Norman B. Mendoza because without him, we will not be here this evening,” said Liangco.

As the organization undergoes continuous growth, they hope that the community will remain supportive of their vision every step of the way. They ask for prayers as they fulfill their vision of a community that is actively engaged in discussions concerning mental health and well-being, and the establishment of the first Suicide Prevention Education Center in Pampanga.

LifeRisks stays true to its goal of destigmatizing mental health. This movement primarily aims to raise awareness in, and increase prevention, against suicide and drug addiction among the youth. The lecture series is free of charge.

Should you wish to invite LifeRisks to your school or company to conduct a lecture seminar-workshop, or become a LifeMover member, you may reserve a slot and reach them through their Facebook page, @liferisksph or call or text 0917 169 9595.

Join them as they tackle life issues that others don’t in the years to come.
