KNOWN as the top tourist destination not only in the region, Boracay continues to be home to captivating attractions -- from white sand beaches to crystal clear sea water to magical sunrise and sunset views. But there’s more to it that allows tourists to savor the moment in the island-destination.

Seated on the 150-hectare tourism township and integrated lifestyle development Boracay Newcoast, Belmont Hotel Boracay is the second hotel development in the island of property giant Megaworld Corporation through its subsidiary brand Global-Estate Resorts Inc. (Geri).

Opened in September this year, the P2.1-billion Belmont Hotel Boracay is a three-tower hotel located within the sloping area of the estate beside another homegrown hotel Savoy Hotel Boracay, and overlooking the eastern beach of the island.

Belmont Hotel Boracay Area General Manager Roland Galano, in a recent media fam tour at Boracay Newcoast, said the hotel’s location allows every guest to immerse with the beauty of nature.

The second hotel under the Belmont brand offers an exclusive nature experience as it allows guests to see the island’s panoramic natural scenery -- from the vast sea to the lush mountains and hills of Boracay and other nearby islands.

Galano said the three-cluster modern hotel offers a laid-back experience to tourists, including those still working while having their vacation. It has a more relaxed ambiance, an option to a party feel being offered by the adjacent Savoy Hotel Boracay mostly to the latter’s millennial clients.

Belmont Hotel Boracay is another unique addition to Boracay Newcoast, which is positioned to become a brand new destination in the island, he said, adding that guests are treated to an exclusive stay at the property’s private beach.

“Here, tourists can experience the best sunrise,” the general manager exclaimed.

Also, it adheres to the sustainability efforts of the entire development through promotion of “green” practices like minimizing the use of plastics at the hotel. This and many other sustainability efforts are hope to shape a more environment-conscious tourists.

The hotel features a total 442 rooms of various choices with sizes ranging from 27 square meters to 52 square meters. It also offers special rooms for persons with disabilities.

Of which, 126 rooms under the middle cluster called “The Island” have started catering to tourists.

Thirty percent of the hotel is operational now. It is expected to go full swing inlcuding the two other clusters before 2019 ends as they are preparing for the year-end party for both Belmont and Savoy, which is poised to be the biggest party for the whole island.

Megaworld senior assistant vice president and head of public relations and media affairs Harold Brian Geronimo said Belmont’s rooms form part of over 1,000 room inventory of Megaworld in Boracay.

“We aim to increase more,” Geronimo said, adding that “we wanted to support the country’s tourism as more hotels is good for the industry.”

In terms of amenities and services, Belmont Hotel Boracay features a wide array of such.

These include a swimming pool and in-pool lounge, Aqua Spa, courtyard, landscaped gardens, fitness center with shower and changing rooms, business center, function halls, meeting rooms, a full-time concierge, 24-hour in-room dining service.

It also has complimentary shuttle services that enables tourist-guests to explore other offerings of Boracay.

One reason why people travel is because of the food offered by the host-destination. The culinary experience allows tourists to deeply appreciate the place, further understand its culture and story, as well as feel its warm hospitality.

And so, Belmont is putting much premium on food. Through its all-day dining at Belmont Café, the hotel features cuisines with Asian and Mediterranean influences.

Located within the ground level, the restaurant will utilize local fresh farm produce to support the farmers in Aklan and other nearby provinces.

Its culinary team is headed by chef Gilbert Alan Mathay who started in Cebu and now has a long culinary track record obtained from inside and outside of the country.

For Belmont, the dishes represent the celebration of the bounty of the land and the sea.

Aside from the cafè and Zabana Pool Bar at the second level deck, Galano said they plan to build a small beach front that will prepare breakfast for tourists to enjoy sunrise.

Indeed, there are still more reasons to spend time in Boracay, Belmont Hotel is just one. The experience it offers, enables tourists to create memories worth-sharing, worth savoring.
