2 ‘akyat bahay’ suspects arrested

TWO suspected “akyat bahay” or house burglars were arrested in follow-up operation by operatives of Police Station 8 at Greenfield, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City Thursday evening, November 21.

Police identified the suspects as Ian Dionson and Ricky Salindron, of Bacolod City.

Police Major Charles Gever, chief of Police Station 8, said Friday the suspects were arrested after they ransacked the house of Maruela Castellano at about 8 p.m.

He said Castellano was also inside the house when she noticed that the suspects entered their house through their window and stealing their personal belongings.

Gever added that Castellano immediately sought the assistance of their neighbors and the police which led to the arrest of the suspects in the area.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession a laptop worth P30,000, assorted jewelries worth P10,000, and headset worth P3,000.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8 and are facing robbery charges.

Meanwhile, a drug personality was also arrested in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station at Hacienda Carmen, Barangay Granada, Bacolod City Thursday afternoon.

Arrested was Alvin Tanique, of Barangay Granada.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said Tanique was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at about 12:25 p.m.

Police recovered from Tanique’s possession three sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P2,000, and the marked money.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 5 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
