Capitol hosts congress for National Children’s Month

THE provincial government through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) recently hosted a National Day Care Children’s Congress as a highlight of its celebration of the National Children’s Month.

The provincial government gathered stakeholders at the Heroes Hall in the City of San Fernando to promote a child-friendly and child-sensitive environment.

The congress tackled issues on children’s primary rights: survival, development, protection, and participation.

“In the province of Pampanga, hindi maiiwan ang welfare ng children dahil dito sa province, ang ating goal is to have one policy, one program, and one team (The children’s welfare in Pampanga will not be left behind because our goal is to have one policy, one program, and one team),” PSWDO head Elizabeth Estiller-Baybayan said in a statement through the Provincial Information Office.

The event ran with the theme “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan.”

The provincial government also celebrated the event by holding contests such as draw and color, poem recital, solo singing, and zumba that were participated by hundreds of children.

The celebration of National Children’s Month is pursuant to Republic Act No. 10661 or “An Act Declaring the Month of November of Every Year as the National Children’s Month.”

The act aims to celebrate and recognize children as the most valuable assets of the nation.
