No classes in Angeles City during SEA Games

WORK and classes in all levels for both public and private schools in Angeles City are suspended on December 2 to 6.

In his memorandum Number 1100, Series of 2019 dated November 19, 2019, Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. ordered the suspension of classes in line with the conduct of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games scheduled in the country from November 30 to December 11.

Lazatin said he suspended the classes to also local athletes who will participate in the event.

Aside from New Clark City, other cities and towns in Pampanga will host other events including arnis, sambo and wrestling at the Angeles University Foundation; wakeboarding and water skiing at Deca Clark Wakepark, Barangay Malabanias; shooting at Pradera Verde in Lubao town; judo, jujitsu and kurash at LausGroup Event Centre, City of San Fernando; rugby sevens and archery at the Clark Parade Grounds; Lawn Bowls, Petanque and Obstacle Course at Clark Global City; dancesports at Royce Hotel and Casino; and baseball and softball at The Villages Clark Freeport, among others.

Other SEA Games events will be held in Subic, Olongapo City, Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

Police Colonel Joyce Patrick Sangalang, Angeles City Police director, earlier said that some 527 police personnel from the city will be deployed during the SEA Games to secure the athletes and the sports events that will be conducted in the city.

Some 11 countries will participate in the 2019 SEA Games with a motto “We Win As One.”

The main venues of event is at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan and New Clark City Athletic Stadium in Capas, Tarlac.
