PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte will leave for a two-day visit in South Korea on Sunday, November 24, to meet and discuss with foreign leaders.

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go said on Friday, November 22, that Duterte will be attending the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) – Republic of Korea (ROK) Commemorative Summit, along with other Asean leaders to tackle with South Korean President Moon Jae-in their partnership and cooperation on areas of mutual concern.

Go also said there is a possibility that the Philippine president would have a bilateral meeting with Jae-In.

“Naa’y possibility (There’s a possibility) that he will be meeting with other officials,” the senator told reporters right after the grand opening of the Acacia Hotel in Lanang, Davao City.

He said the President’s trip will once again bring potential investments for the country.

Go, Duterte’s former aide, admitted he will not be able to accompany the President in his upcoming trip as he will still be busy with his duties in the Senate.

He also admitted that he is not aware on the possible investors the trip would gain, but he said he is confident that Duterte’s foreign trip will encourage Korean businessmen to invest in the country.

“I’m sure maraming agreements na magaganap since Korea is isa sa mga maraming naitulong dito sa bansa (I’m sure there will be a lot of agreements that will transpire since Korea is one of the countries that support the Philippines), including Japan and China,” Go said.

He said Duterte will return to the Philippines on Tuesday, November 26, to Manila.
