THE University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers forged a rematch for the championship in the Small Basketeers of the Philippines (SBP) division after they trounced Corpus Christi School of Cagayan de Oro, 82-62, for their second win in a row in the national finals of the 34th SBP Passerelle Twin Tournament backed by Milo at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center on Saturday evening, November 23, 2019.

UV’s win came on the heels of its dominant 79-14 walloping of Berkeley School on Saturday. With a 2-0 win-loss slate, the boys of head coach Ronald Bucao would now get a shot at redemption at its finals tormentors last season — the reigning champions La Salle Greenhills.

La Salle has been just been as dominant in this competition, bulldozing past Corpus Christi School, 91-51, and Berkeley, 93-34.

UV is aching for payback after La Salle narrowly defeated them in last year’s finals, 42-38.

Meanwhile, in the Passerelle division, National University, heavily favored to win its second straight title, ran over Hercor College of Roxas, 106-40, and Xavier University High School of Cagayan de Oro, 109-72.

International School for Better Beginnings, on the other hand, nipped Xavier University High School, 72-70, then outdueled Hercor College, 87-82, to make its first-ever appearance in a Passerelle division championship game.

The 34th SBP Passerelle Twin Tournament backed by Milo is the country’s premier tournament for the Under 12 and Under 15 age groups. It is also supported by Chris Sports, SKLZ and Rain or Shine.
