BIT International forces do-or-die game for finals spot in BSAA juniors

THE BIT International Colleges (BIT-IC) outlasted the University of Bohol, 118-115, in overtime, to send their semifinal clash in the Juniors division to a do-or-die game in the Bohol Schools Athletic Association (BSAA) Season 9 basketball tournament at the UB gym in Tagbilaran City, Bohol Friday, November 22, 2019.

Kenneth Camargo paced BIT-IC with 27 points, two assists and three steals while Arch Jaynel Castanares added 25 markers. Christin Ytis was just as lethal on the floor as he submitted 24 points even as King Senadoza and Marc Pasagad tallied 18 and 15 points, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the Seniors competition, the Bohol Institute of Technology took down the Holy Name University to book a seat in the finals. Jeryyco Penales and Mark Bual had 23 points each with the former also putting up three rebounds, two assists, a steal and two blocks.

Clifford Marsamolo and Kaiser Manlapat also played key roles in the BIT win as they had 19 and 14 points, respectively.

In the 14-under division, the Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School (DCPNHS) upended the Christ the King Academy, 81-78, to barge into the finals. Ronje Bongalos pushed DCPNHS to the win with his 26 points, seven boards, four assists and five steals while Aise Magallanes put up 19 points. John Pitao also submitted 17 to help DCPNHS come away with the win.
