Gabasa joins Texas State women's golf team

PROLIFIC Cebuano golfer Junia Louise Gabasa has signed up to join the women’s golf team of the Texas State Bobcats in the US National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

In an exclusive talk with SunStar Cebu, Gabasa mentioned she was recruited by several schools, notably Campbell University, Penn State University, Wofford College. However, she settled on Texas State where she felt she would be better off on and off the greens.

“I chose Texas State because of the golf all-year round weather, the team competes among top ranked schools, and the major I would like to take,” said Gabasa who bared she would be studying Industrial Engineering.

Considered to be one of the most promising young golfers in the country, Gabasa said she is excited to compete and get better as a golfer.

“I look forward to represent the school well and to compete amongst the best amateurs in the field but essentially continue to learn and improve my game,” she said.
