3 vehicles crash, 5 injured

FIVE individuals were seriously injured in a vehicular collision involving a trailer truck and two private cars on Sunday along McArthur Highway corner Central Park Subdivision, Bangkal, Davao City.

Based on the police report, the road mishap happened at about 1:40 a.m. yesterday, November 24.

The international harvester trailer truck, bearing plate number URD226, fully loaded of coconut, is driven by Marchell Adtoon Navaja, 30, male, single, a resident of Sibulan Astorga, Davao Del Sur.

While the Toyota Corolla, bearing plate number TGG499, is driven by Bryant Angelo Castillo Villa-Abrille,18, old male, single and a resident of Tulip Drive Matina, Davao City; and Chevrolet Trailblazer, color white, with temporary plate number 130107, is driven by John Patrick Moralidad Lim, 20, male single and a resident of JP Laurel, General Santos City.

Based on the initial investigation, all the vehicles were initially traveling along McArthur Highway in the same direction coming from the Matina Crossing, heading towards Ulas.

The trailer truck was occupying the inner lane portion of the road, while the Toyota was on the innermost lane.

Upon reaching the place of the incident the Chevrolet bumped the rear left portion of the truck from its front right portion.

Due to the impact, the rear left portion of Chevrolet collided into the front right side portion of the Toyota.

Following the incident, the driver of Chevrolet sustained a serious physical injury while the unit was deformed and incurred major damage.

Its four passengers identified as Lakambini Luna 20, female, single, and a resident of Saint Peter St., Toril, Davao City; Don Michael Simon Nagsuban Ocampo, 20, male single, and a resident of Apopong, General Santos City; Christian Gabriel M.Saberon, 19, male, single and a resident of Samantha homes, Bago Gallera, Davao City; and Andrea Camado Magpantay 19, female single, and a resident of Lubugan, Toril, Davao City.

They were brought to Southern Philippines Medical Center SPMC hospital Bajada, Davao City for medical treatment by the responding ambulance of central 911 and the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council ambulance of Barangy 74-A Matina, Davao City.

The driver of the truck and Toyota were temporarily held at the Talomo Police Station for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, Davao City Police Office director Police Colonel Kirby John Kraft said that they are still conducting a deeper investigation on the incident to determine what triggered the crash.
